Hinamatsuri is a traditional Japanese festival, also known as Doll's Day or Girls' Day, celebrated on March 3rd. It involves the display of a set of decorated dolls representing the emperor, empress and their court.

Bara chirashizushi is often enjoyed during Hinamatsuri. It is a type of sushi with colorful toppings that symbolize the arrival of spring. The vibrant colors and ingredients signify the wish for a bright and prosperous future for girls.
